On the Champs de Mars, make an ascent up now other the Eiffel Tower, the symbol of the capital built by Gustave Eiffel for the World’s Fair of 1889[JA1] , which offers views of up to 60 km on clear days. Nearby, the Hôtel national des Invalides houses many museums, including the Musée de l’Armée, while the royal church of the Dôme des Invalides houses the tomb of Napoleon Bonaparte. At the end of the Esplanade des Invalides, head across the magnificent Pont Alexandre III and towards the Champs-Elysées, the most beautiful avenue in the world and home to the famous Arc de Triomphe!
For a spot of relaxation along the Right Bank of the Seine, head to the Jardin des Tuileries between the Louvre and the Place de la Concorde for a spot of leisure and culture. Here you can admire statues by Maillol alongside others by Rodin and Giacometti.
